Spirit of Freedom ~ Employment Opportunities

Spirit of Freedom employs experienced, qualified and professional crew to work on our luxury live-aboard dive vessel operating from Cairns to the Great Barrier Reef and Coral Sea.

If you are a motivated self starter, willing to accept the responsibilities associated with live-aboard dive vessels, you enjoy the company of other divers and can provide a high level of hospitality to our international guests, please complete the application form for consideration towards one of the listed positions. Tusa Dive offers additional employment opportunities aboard their dive vessels specialising in daily trips for experienced divers and snorkellers to the Great Barrier Reef.

Work Permits

Australia: If you are not an Australian or New Zealand citizen you will require a work permit for Australia. Company sponsorship is extremely difficult to obtain unless you have some specialized skill that cannot be easily found within Australia. eg. a combination of instructor, engineer & multilingual qualifications.

TRIP DIRECTOR
RequirementsJob Description

  • Nitrox certified (preferred).
  • Current training in First Aid and Emergency Oxygen Adminsistraton
  • Provide quality cruises which adhere to our advertised itineraries
  • Maintain all areas of vessel in excellent seaworthy condition, including maintaining the inventory, storage and order systems for tools and spares.
  • Manage all Engineering aspects of vessel including maintenance schedule for all ships machinery and apparatus.
