4 Day Coral Sea Trip 18
We had wonderful weather planned for our 4 day Coral Sea Trip out on Spirit of Freedom, with 10-15 knot winds forcast it made for a awesome few days of diving ahead of us!
We had 23 guests join us at Lizard Island including 11 from Broad Reach, USA and others from all over the world.
We headed out to the Northern parts of the Ribbon Reefs to do 3 dives including our night dive, plenty of action to kick us off to a good start.
We headed out to Osprey Reef for 2 full days of diving some of the best parts of it. Osprey offers amazing deep wall dives with great visibility and impressive typography.
With glass out conditions and little wind we were living the dream out in the Coral Sea, Sunshine and awesome diving with Live Drops and tender drops wherever we wanted.
We hit up False Entrance, Nautilus Caves, Pavona and Admiralty on the first day and then headed up to North Horn for the second day. We were extremely lucky with the sightings this trip as some guests saw a Tiger Shark cruising around, we saw Hammer Heads and a Manta Ray and of course plenty of reef sharks.
We then decided to spend an extra day on the Coral Sea because we had these smooth low wind conditions. Skipper Rob made the call to head out the Bougainville Reef, another reef system out in the Coral Sea. The hard corals and fish life are amazing and vibrant out at Bougainville.
We enjoyed Corner Shopwhere we spotted a big potato Cod and schools of Barracuda. Before we tied up at Dungeons and Dragons for 2 dives to enjoy the wonderful swim throughs and over hangs. Then finishing off with a Live drop at Anchors Away.
We then had a sunset BBQ on the Sun deck as the sun set over the horizon. It was a sweet way to finish off what was an epic Coral Sea Trip.
Thanks to all our wonderful guests for all the safe and fun diving. We hope you enjoyed your time onboard Spirit and we hope to see you underwater again sometime soon!
