3 Day Cod Hole and Ribbon Reef Trip
On Monday the 24th of September, Spirit of Freedom set sail for a three-day/ 11-dive expedition to the Ribbon Reefs & Lizard Island.
With the weather being not so flash above the water it certainly made up for it down below. As we tracked north starting at Norman Reef on our first day up into the ribbons for our second and third day the underwater conditions only improved with an average of 25m visibility.
So much was seen on our underwater adventures with an array of fish species big to small on sites like Steve’s Bommie and Harrier Reef. Large Barracudas chasing small Fusiliers on many occasions while Giant Trevally hunted along side us during the night dive at Challenger Bay.
On our third day things stepped up a notch starting with over half a dozen Cuttlefish at Google Gardens to a couple Green Sea Turtles at Lighthouse Bommie and of course the ever so friendly giant Potato Cod.
Big congrats to Christina & Justin for smashing out their Advance course while enjoying their Honeymoon with us aboard Spirit and many thanks to everyone else for joining us while making it such a memorable trip.
