Spirit of Freedom offers return courtesy transfers from all Cairns City Hotels. If you are staying outside the central district, or at the Northern Beach suburbs, you will need to arrange
your own transfer on the departure/ return day.
Spirit of Freedom recommends arrival into Cairns at least the day prior to your trip, as unforseen flight delays or lost baggage may cause inconvenience
or you may even miss the boat. However, if you are
flying into Cairns on day of departure, please note that you will need to make your own way to our dive shop or the vessel itself.
Monday Departures
Boarding is from 11.15 -11.30am Monday morning, for a 12.00 noon departure.
The vessel is located at Trinity Wharf at the end of Lake Street. Taxis and coaches can drive up onto the wharf to
locate the vessel, which is usually berthed under the clock tower.
If you are taking the 3 day tour your luggage will be weighed upon boarding (max weight is 20 kg/ 45lb).
Thursday Departures
You will need to check in at Hinterland Aviation by 08.00am, for an 8.30am departure. You will fly to meet the Spirit of Freedom at Lizard Island.
Hinterland Aviation is located on Bush Pilots Road at the General Aviation side of the Cairns Airport, just off Captain Cook Highway.
Your luggage will be weighed at check-in (max weight is 20 kg/ 45lb).
Additional Storage
If you have additional luggage that you wish to have stored whilst you are on tour with Spirit of Freedom, we have storage facilities at our office. Simply label your luggage to be stored, and give it to our driver when he picks
you up from your hotel. He will return your luggage to you on the day you return to Cairns.
