Mon 2nd August 2010 - Thu 5th August 2010

Always great having a huge group of enthusiastic divers, keen for every dive and all the adventure they promise. A couple of family groups, and a lot of young divers joined the ranks for this trip.

Straight out to Saxon Reef for a couple of lazy dives in the sheltered lagoons of Clipper. Plenty of piscatorial activity to enjoy while getting back into the diving rhythm. An overnight steam up the Ribbon Reefs and in fresh and early for 2 amazing dives among the beautiful array of Coral at Wonder Wall & Gardens. And what was that you saw under the boat? Is it a Turtle? Is it a Dolphin? No, It's a Minke Whale! Looks like the last of the seasons citations is ready to head down to cooler waters and the rest of the pod, but this could easily be a highlight for those that saw it.!

Known for its Bommies, Pixie Pinnacle didn't disappoint; divers sucking back that last bit of air before the "red zone" to see as much as was on offer in this life-abounding centre. Challenger Bay was no Challenge; calm, clear waters; Eels, Sharks, Lion Fish, Pipe Fish, Cuttle Fish. And the night dive was sensational, 2 Gray Whalers swimming under the back deck to send us off. The most frequent comment this trip being "That was the best dive ever!"

Up early for our last day at the Ribbon Reefs, and Lighthouse Bommie surpassed Pixie Pinnacle with a Sea Snake at the dive deck for our entry, and a Turtle circling with our divers. All the boys turned up at the Cod feed, and a lot of Red Bass taking more than a piece of the action... Dynamite drift was a blast. Sorry. But all the faces were smiling as they came up out of the water. Forgotten were the thoughts that this is the last dive for the trip!

Congratulations to Kate & Chris on their 7th anniversary. Thanks for coming out with us to celebrate this occasion. We wish you all the best for your future adventures together. And thanks to everyone for all your enthusiasm, stories, humour, and kind comments. We hope you continue exploring the oceans, and learning wherever you can. And remember: Don't touch the Coral! See you on the beach,
Mossy
