Spirit of Freedom - TRIP Gallery
Mon 21st June 2010 - Thu 24th June 2010
A little adventure on the high seas to get the trip started! A wide spread of internationals with a few family dive teams as well. Was great to have so many young divers on board being shown around by a generation of divers.
Regardless of how turbulent the water may be, there is always a calming effect of seeing a Turtle pop up off the back of the boat at your first dive site. Was great to see one of the little guys at the feed, instead of the usual heavy suspects. He was quite animated trying to get a pilchard, but when he realised there was no competition around, he became more comfortable and slowed down. Two Towers offered a myriad of creatures; Sea Snakes, Sharks, and yes, a Minke! Great response to the night dive, a lot of first timers, seeing the green glow of a Sharks' eye raised a few pulses. A shadow befell Pixie Pinnacle for both dives, cast by a wall of Barracuda, and aiding their predation of Neon Fusileers and Damsels was a trio of Spanish Mackerel and a team of Trevally. The dive rapidly became an action movie for all divers to witness the circle of life. Little fish. Big fish... Other highlights at the Pixies' included Garden Eels, Shrimp Goby, and a playful octopus.
This trip saw so many divers making leaps forward in their skill, ability, and confidence! And congratulations to Dennis & Elaine on completion of your advanced course. Never stop diving, and never stop learning guys.
The guests were thrilled with the trip, and weren't going to let a little 30knot draft push them around. You are all fantastic divers, and I hope you keep it up.
Cris and Claire, it was sad to see you go so early in the trip. We hope to see you out here again for all the experiences you were meant to have.
Best wishes from all the crew, and see you on the beach.
