Mon 2nd April 2012 - Thu 5th April 2012

The sun was shining as we left on our 3 day Barrier Reef adventure. Our first port of call was the ever colourful Coral Gardens on Saxon Reef. We were lucky enough to spot a very friendly hawksbill turtle and a few smiling white tip reef sharks, happy to pose for the cameras. The usual suspects were in full force with the abundance of clown fish putting a smile on everyone's face.

Bright and early we arrive at ribbon reef # 10, we start the morning off with a nice relaxing dive to explore the wonders of the cod hole, the early morning shift change allowed us to observe the day time dwellers come out from hiding and a few predators still lurking around, a slight current brought out a splendour of schooling fish and provided our divers some beautiful macro & landscape photography. Next up we conduct our world famous Cod Feed and we were greeted by the usual suspects, our resident potato cod and quite a few curious red bass, the feed was enjoyed by all and we ended the dive with a leisurely tour around the cod hole, marine life spotted on this dive were white tip & grey reef sharks, barracuda & moray eels. Our next dive was at two towers were our divers were treated to sea snakes, many different varieties of anemone & clown fish blue lined snapper and a large diversity of marine life.

Our last destination for the day & night was the ever amazing challenger bay, Barramundi cod, sweet lips, barracuda, lion fish and white tip reef sharks were all out in abundance, the healthy state of the many coral species were also a high point for this dive. Night dive time and the reef was glowing with the eyes of thousands of crustaceans, moray eels out and about hunting, white tip reef sharks patrolling the reef looking for some easy prey, parrot fish hiding away inside the protective bubble and giant trevally following our divers around for majority of the dive, a great way to end an action packed day of diving.
Our last day of diving and we begin with an explosion of life and colour and a fantastic dive on pixie pinnacle, anthias, basslets and fusiliers coated the top half of the reef and a curious Napoleon wrasse hanging out in the blue, lion fish, banded pipe fish, and many different nudibranch species were only a few of the amazing critters awaiting us on the pinnacle out in the blue was a massive school of big eyed trevally, our next two dives were held at lighthouse bommie and Cathedrals, light house was a big hit as usual and the resident green turtle decided to put on a show for all our divers and put a massive smile on everyones face and the dive at cathedrals was truly a visual spectacular, with a complete glass out and minimal current the visibility was amazing and the abundance of healthy corals gave everyone an unforgettable dive.

Our last dive of the trip was at the snake pit, a favourite dive week after week and not hard to see why, about 5 mins into the dive two manta rays decided to circle the group and glide around for majority of the dive giving everyone the most exciting dive of the trip some amazing photography and video were recorded and some lifelong memories were also made along the way, we finish our trip with a delicious BBQ at lizard island and a fond farewell to all our fantastic guests
